What the format is
The product is blown up to the size of a car or a building and placed somewhere real: a square, a beach, a train station. It can be CGI or a physical installation. Passers-by reacting to it are often part of the clip.

- 4. 6–8 s
Twist or interaction

Why it works
- Scale is the fastest visual hook there is; the eye flags it before reading anything.
- Real locations make the clip feel like news, which invites people to ask whether it’s real.
- One strong image also works as a still, for feeds and for press coverage.
How brands shot it

Where it took off
We haven’t found a source that documents where the format started; it exists both as physical installations and as CGI. A widely covered early case of the CGI version going viral is Jacquemus’ giant Bambino bags in Paris in April 2023.

Video generators handle this format well
Storyboard
- 1. 0–1 s
Wide reveal
Wide shot of a city square with a giant your product, as tall as a building, standing in the middle. Cars and people show the scale.
- 2. 1–3 s
A person for scale
A passer-by walks past, stops, looks up at the giant your product and takes a photo with a phone.
- 3. 3–6 s
Details at giant size
Close-ups of the giant your product: texture, logo and packaging details at enormous size.
- 4. 6–8 s
Twist or interaction
The giant your product does something: it opens, rolls, or a giant hand lifts it out of the square.
The whole video in one prompt

The prompt also works in Kling, Veo, Seedance and other video generators.
Before you generate
- Upload a photo of your real product to the generator (image to video), so the packaging, logo and label stay right.
- Make a still frame first and animate only the one you like: video costs more.
- Label the result as AI-generated where the platform asks for it, and say it is CGI if it could pass for a real stunt.
- This is your own take on the format, not a copy of a brand’s ad. Leave out other brands’ logos, people and music.
How to produce it
Usually CGI over real footage. A physical inflatable or build works when there is budget and a permit. Scale cues such as people and shadows decide whether it convinces.
